How To Pluck A Guitar String For Kids [Free 10-Day Course]

I want to share three steps to take your guitar playing to the next level

Guitar for kids with David Aldridge,

We’re gonna take the pick, and we’re gonna place it in between the thumb and finger on our right hand like this. Now we want the pointy part of the pick to face away from our hand. Now the remaining fingers, we’re gonna wiggle them like this, just to ensure they’re nice and relaxed. Okay. So what we’re gonna do next is gonna take the fingertips and we’re gonna place them on the front of the guitar. Like, so we want to ensure that the pick isn’t like this.

It’s too far back, or it’s too far forward, like, so, so we wanna make sure that the pick is flat on the string like this. So what I’d like for you to do is just to practice holding the pick, like, so rest in the fingertips and just make sure that your pick is flat on the string. Welcome back today. Number five of this 10-day course, we will look at how to block a guitar using a pick, and also, we’ll be covering finger fitting that will help you achieve learning more songs. Soon you are here cause you want to learn to play songs on the guitar, become a Disney star or play the guitar for your family. And you know, the difference you can make if you master these things, okay, step two, we’re going to learn a basic arpeggio pattern now in arpeggio is where we pluck out three or more strings or so today’s arpeggio. We’re gonna pluck the third string, the second string, the first string. And then back to the second string. Also, we have two different ways. We pluck the strings. We have a down pick, which is like this.

So we push in through the string, and we also have an up pick where we go up to the ceiling. So in this oped pattern, we’re gonna be using two down picks, and two up picks like this. So just join in with me. So we’re gonna go down on string three, down on string two, up on string one and up on string two. Now the challenge is to try and keep your fingers resting on the front of the guitar like this. This is where most people go wrong. When they first start learning how to pluck the guitar, they don’t rest the fingers on the front, and they pluck the string and pull away like this. So then it takes a lot of time to get the pick back. Okay. So we’re gonna do this a few times. So just play along with me. If you haven’t already, consider subscribing to the channel, and if this video is helping you click the subscribe button, you are helping to support videos like this and of people just like you who feel like they matter. You can access all 10 training videos in the, and I recommend rewatching them as many times as you need to.

Okay. So step three, we’re not gonna use the pick. I’m going to show you how to finger-pick. So I’m just gonna explain what the thumb does. So the thumb plays what we call the base strings, which are strings four, five and six. So let’s start first of all. So we’re gonna take the fingertips, and we’re just gonna this time, we’re gonna rest them on the front of the strings like this, and we’re gonna take the tip of our thumb, and we’re gonna push through string six like this, and we drawing big circles with the thumb. Okay. So after you’ve practised up a little bit, let’s move on to string five and then string four.

So we wanna make sure we’re keeping the fingers on the front of the strings. And again, they’re not pulling away. perfect. Okay. So that’s how the thumb works. So this time, we’re gonna rest the thumb on string five, and we’re gonna place the index finger. This finger here on string three, then we’re gonna place the middle finger on string two, and we’re gonna place the ring finger on string one. Now this time, we’re gonna keep the foam resting on the fifth string whilst the fingers play. And we’re gonna take the same arched pattern that we did in step two. And now we’re gonna pluck with the fingers. So let’s try this. So we’re gonna go third string, second string, first string, back to the second string. Okay. So we’re going to do this a few more times. So just play along with me.

You know, when I was growing up, I didn’t really know what to do, where to start this, this incredible passion for playing the guitar. And I used to go to the library on guitar tutorial box. Can you imagine a world without the internet? It took me ages to figure this out. And I don’t want that for you. I know sometimes you get a little caught up. Can I do this? Well, the more skills you learn, the more you feel confident to do a good job. And I know that’s important to you throughout this course. We keep coming back to your confidence. You have what it takes to achieve your dreams. Great job. Now, you know how to use a guitar and also to plug the strings using your fingers, which we call fingerpicking. Okay? So I’d like to just add an extra challenge to this lesson. In the previous lessons, we learned three chords. Now, if you’ve missed that one, please do go back and watch the lesson on chords, but we’re gonna March along plucking those chords, using a guitar pick and our fingers. So first of all, we’re going to use the guitar pick, and we’re gonna start with a chord of G I’m resting my fingers on the front, and I’m using my pick. And here we go. I’m gonna do each one four times.

I’m gonna change the G7 and then Em; great job. Okay. Let’s switch over and use the fingers. So taking my thumb, and then I rest it on the fifth drink. I’m gonna start with a chord of G. I’m gonna look out the same pattern, but using the fingers this time, G7, fantastic. You completed the challenge.

Guitar Lesson #4. How To Strum A Guitar For Beginners. [Free 10-Day Starter Guitar For Kids Challenge]

When strumming a guitar, we want all the sounds to blend together. Imagine putting fruit into a blender, and then it all mushes up and makes one colour. That’s what we are doing with the sound. Welcome to lesson four. How to a guitar for beginners. This is part of my 10-day course where I teach you to play the guitar for 10 minutes a day or 10 days, helping you move one step closer to becoming a Disney star, rockstar, or pop star.

As often as you like, remember also to listen carefully and watch, watch the video until the end. When strumming a guitar, we use the back of the hand like this to go down. And when we strum up, we use the nail on our thumb like this. We want all the sounds to blend together. Imagine putting fruit into a blender, and then it all mushes up and makes one colour. That’s what we are doing with the sound. Okay. So we’ll use two words to help with today’s streaming pattern. We’re gonna use the word tea and the word coffee. So when we see the word tea, we use a downstream towards the floor like this. Um, when we see the word coffee, we’re gonna go down and then up like this. So our first exercise is coffee, one coffee and three teas. Okay. And we’re going to do this four times. So join in with me. Here we go.

Remember, you have what it takes to learn, play the guitar and reach your dreams.

Okay. So now we’re gonna strum Coca-Cola and tea. So just join along with me.

Guitar Lesson #3. Basic Guitar Chords For Beginner KidsĀ  [FREE 10 Day Course]

Welcome to lesson three, basic guitar calls for

This is part of my 10-day course, where I teach you to play guitar for 10 days, helping move you one step closer to becoming that Disney starts today. We’ll start learning how to play three basic chords. Let’s jump straight in and remember you can pause. And re-watch the video. As often as you like, and remember to listen carefully.

We make sure that the thumb is behind the neck like this, and the thumb is pointing up to the ceiling and now our fingers are curved into the strings like this. Now we’re gonna go over numbering the fingers. So let’s try that now. So we’re gonna wiggle finger one like this. So just join in with me. We’ll try to keep the thumb on the back of the neck. We’re wiggle in finger one, wiggle finger two, like this finger three and, finger four. And we use the fingertip to push down like this. We play behind the frat. So we are not on the frat. Wait right at the side of the frat like this.

Remember, you have what it takes to learn, play the guitar and reach your dreams. So we’ll learn the G chord to ensure our thumb is on the back of the neck. And it’s pointing towards the ceiling. We’re gonna wiggle finger three like this, and then we’re gonna push down on fret three like that. So making sure countdown 1, 2, 3, and we’re in here on three string, one, we’re using the fingertip, and we are pushing down, and we are keeping the pressure, or we’re keeping the string pinned to the front board. So it’s like pinching between the thumb and the finger like this. So once you have the finger pushing down, we’re gonna take the back of the hand, and they’re just gonna strung down like this, the strings. Excellent. That’s a cord of G. Let’s try G7. So keeping the foam on the back of the neck, we’re gonna wiggle finger one, and then we’re gonna push down at frat one like this. Okay. So pushing the string down, keeping it pushing down and let’s string like that. Okay. That’s a G seven. Let’s say, if you get a little bit of a buzzing sound like this, that means you might be pushing down hard enough. So just keep applying the

Okay. Now next, we’re gonna take a look at the chord of E minor. So now we’re gonna wiggle the second finger, and we’re gonna push down at fret two on string four, like this again, we’re gonna use the thumb for pinching, keeping pushing down and let’s just stir the strings like that. Well done. So those are the three chords, G G seven and E minor. So when we play the major chords of G and G7, they sound happy like this. And when we play minor chords, they sound sad. Okay. Let’s see if you can guess if I’m playing a major or a minor chord; here we go. Yes, you got it. It’s major. Step three. We’re gonna practice, change him from one chord to another. So we’re gonna start with the chord of G, and we’re gonna use the back of the hand, and we’re gonna string four times. So just join. I’m gonna count to four and then just play along with me. Here we go. 1, 2, 3, 4. We’re gonna change to G7, and then we’ll change to E minor. Let’s try it one more time. Here we go. Back on to G 1, 2, 3, 4 G7 E minor. Great here, huh? Three ways people mess up when learning to play chords, they don’t use their fingertips to push the strings down the thumb isn’t pointing upwards. They don’t push the string down hard enough to get a clear sound. Here’s what to do after completing today’s lesson practice changing between these three chords, then join me for more fun in tomorrow’s lesson on day four. You’ll love tomorrow’s lesson. Guitar Lesson #2. Beginner Kids And Parents Easy Tuning Tutorial [FREE 10 Day Course]

When we turn the peg forwards, the pitch goes up. And when we turn the peg backwards, the rise goes down.

Welcome to guitar. Lesson two easy guitar tuning. This is part of my 10-day course where I teach you how to play the guitar for 10 minutes a day or 10 days, moving you one step closer to becoming that Disney star or pop star.

Step one, using the guitar tuner up. We want to ensure that we’re in a quiet space when we tune in. So here’s a challenge. Let’s see if you can find the pegs for each string on your guitar,

We’re going to start with string six, and we’re going to do about one plug per second. And as you pluck, you’ll see that the red circle appears on the screen now because it’s to the left of the screen. That means that the note is too low. So we’re gonna turn the peg away from the guitar like this. Now you’ll see that the circle is getting closer to the line. Okay? So when it goes green and makes that noise, you know that the string is in tune. So let’s move on to string five, and I’m gonna pluck. Ooh. So that’s to the right of the centre. So now I’m going to locate peg five like this. I’m gonna turn it towards myself. We’re only doing tiny turns, just little favours like that. Just follow along with me. Excellent. All we have is a chain guitar. We are having fun today. Remember, you have what it takes to learn and play guitar and reach your dreams. Consider subscribing to the channel by subscribing. As often as you’d like, join me for more fun in tomorrow’s lesson. You are well on your way to becoming a guitar star. Here are three ways. People fail when learning to play the guitar; they don’t tune their guitar before practice. And we know no matter how well you play it, it will never sound great. If your guitar isn’t in tune, they don’t tune the strings to the correct letters and numbers. They don’t get help from a grown-up. If they are struggling, I want to honour and appreciate you or take time out of your busy day to be in education. That means so much to me. We’re marching along and moving you CLO one step closer to achieving your dreams. Remember, you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.
